Key account manager, road freight

We are hiring one salesperson. Among road freight sales jobs in Poland this one is unusual in a single respect: the book you build is yours, and so is the margin on it.

Working mode
Remote or hybrid, from Poland

FTL and LTL road freight

See how your day actually runs

Freight sales remote from Poland does not mean sitting in an inbox. Your day splits between the phone, the calculator and the decision on where a load goes.

Morning

You open the list: who replied, who has gone quiet for two weeks, whose contract with their current forwarder runs out next month. Then you start dialling, because in this job a conversation opens the door and an e-mail rarely does.

Late morning

An enquiry lands: 12 pallets, Gliwice to Antwerp, loading Thursday. You check the lane on a freight exchange, call two carriers from our network and decide whether it moves as FTL or as an LTL groupage.

Afternoon

You price it. You know what the lane really costs, because you can see the numbers behind 28,000 shipments a year. The client gets a rate and you already know your forwarding margin on it.

End of day

You close the transport order, hand the detail to operations and go back to the morning list. No fleet sits behind you: no drivers, no workshop, no fuel cards. What you sell is a lane and a price.

Key Account Manager

What you do in this role

You run the whole cycle: first call, first quote, first load, then the account stays with you. You set the rates, watch which lanes still pay and decide which enquiries are worth the effort. Nobody hands you a list of accounts to keep warm — the book is yours and it grows at the pace you set.

Bring your own contacts or start with an empty page. Both work. The first is faster; the second needs a method and one patient quarter. What we look at is whether you can reach the person who signs off a transport budget, again and again — not how many business cards you arrive with.

This is a key account manager transport job in FTL and LTL road freight, domestic and cross-border. Our office is in Katowice, at Francuska 182, and the role is run remotely or hybrid from anywhere in Poland.

What you need to bring

Road freight you have actually sold

You know how a per-kilometre rate relates to a flat rate for the load, what cabotage does to a price and why a Thursday loading costs more than a Monday one.

Freight exchanges as a daily tool

Trans.eu and TimoCom should be routine for you, not something you pick up along the way.

A habit of calling

Until you reach the person who signs, not the person who forwards. Most of an FTL LTL sales career happens on the phone.

Numbers you can show

Turnover, margin, clients won in the last two years. Figures, not adjectives.

Where your money comes from

Commission on your net margin

There is no ceiling, and no threshold where the percentage starts dropping. The table below spells it out.

600+ carriers and 5,000+ vehicles

You find capacity faster than the competition, so you hand back fewer enquiries for lack of a truck.

Our cost data

Transport cost optimisation here is real analysis, not a slide. You walk into a price conversation with figures from the 27 countries we run.

A say in where the line goes

Which industries and lanes we chase next is largely your call; at this volume your choices move the mix.

No firm of your own to run

Invoicing, collections, cargo insurance and liability for every order sit with us.

Check how your pay is built

The model is published and does not change mid-year. The base is fixed; the commission depends only on the margin you make on your own loads.

Check how your pay is built
ComponentHow we calculate it
Base[SALARY RANGE TO BE FILLED IN BEFORE PUBLICATION] — a fixed monthly amount, paid regardless of sales result.
CommissionA percentage of the net margin on your loads. No cap, no sliding scale downwards, no shared team pot.
Commission baseNet margin = what the client pays minus the carrier rate minus direct costs of the order (handling, surcharges, cargo insurance). Office overhead is not deducted.

What we are not asking of you

  • A ready book on day one

We treat the first quarter as pipeline building, not as a probation period with a target from week one.

  • Every platform on the market

One you genuinely work in is enough. The rest takes a few days here.

  • A move to Silesia

Most freight sales roles in this region end with a commute to the office. Not this one: it runs remotely, and you come to Katowice when there is a reason to.

  • Every cargo type from the start

We move out-of-gauge loads and express freight, but you grow into them with someone from operations beside you.

  • Your evenings

We measure the result, not hours logged or replies sent after ten at night.
